Witnesses needed after fatal collision in Whitwick yesterday

Officers want to see dashcam footage from the area.

A 72-year-old motorcyclist died in a collision in Whitwick yesterday afternoon (Sunday 14 August).

A passer-by found the rider in Oaks Road at around 3.50 pm.

Emergency services attended the scene where he was pronounced deceased.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the motorcycle beforehand.

They are urging anyone travelling in the area to check any video recording equipment installed in their vehicles.

From initial enquiries, it’s believed the 72-year-old rider was travelling on his black Yamaha XVS motorcycle along Oaks Road towards Copt Oak when his vehicle left the road and collided with a wall.
