Officers are investigating an armed robbery in Nuneaton this morning (Fri 19th Jan) in which staff members were threatened at knife point.
The robbery happened just before 6am this morning (Friday, 19 January), when two men went into Tesco Express in Croft Road, threatened the staff and stole a large amount of cash.
The members of staff was not physically injured but was very shaken by the incident.
The two offenders are described as white men and were wearing hooded dark coloured clothing.
Both made off on foot towards fair Isle Drive.
Officers have making local enquiries and are studying CCTV footage.
Detective Inspector Teresa McKenna says: "The store staff did exactly the right thing by co-operating with the thieves, and fortunately none of them were injured. They were extremely distressed by the incident though, and we're working closely with the individuals and their employer to ensure they receive the support they need.
"The incident took place quickly and the men are reported to have been wearing dark balaclavas. Therefore, we are appealing for anyone who may have been within the area and saw any suspicious activity, no matter how insignificant you think it might be, please do come forward to support our investigation."
Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the vicinity of Tesco Express this morning or has any information which would help them with their enquiries.
