A driver has been left seriously injured following a road traffic collision in Desford.
The collision happened at around 6.20pm on Thursday 19 March on the B582 Hunts Lane around 700 metres east of Kirkby Lane and involved a blue Ford Kuga and a silver Vauxhall Astra.
The driver of the Kuga sustained serious injuries and he remains at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the Astra sustained injuries and was treated at the Leicester Royal Infirmary before he was discharged the following day.
Detective Constable Pete Davies, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, is asking anyone who may have seen the collision to get in touch.
He said: “At the time of the collision, the Astra was travelling from the direction of Newbold Verdon towards Desford while the Kuga was travelling in the opposite direction.
“I would like to speak to anyone who may witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle beforehand to get on touch.
“Similarly anyone with any dash cam footage relating to the incident is also asked to make contact with the police.”
