Hinckley Christmas lights turned on by 9-year-old local hero

The Christmas lights are now on for the whole community to see.

Fosse 107 listeners nominated local heroes to turn on the Christmas lights along with the Mayor of Hinckley.

Pollyanna Bland, from Desford, was nominated as she has set up a litter picking group in her local area. 

Her group called, PlOGGER, which stands for Pollyanna's Litter Pickers of Greatness Getting Excellent Results, has already collected over 100kg of rubbish.

Throughout the night the Fosse 107 stage welcomed brilliant performances from local schools, The Drama Academy, Hinckley Choral Union, Dean Thomas, Steven Faulkner and Olivia Bevington.
