They want to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything.
Detectives from Charnwood CID have launched an investigation following a report of a fire at an unoccupied house in Loughborough.
The Police and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a house on fire in Warwick Court, Warwick Way on Thursday 28 April.
Nobody was found inside and after further enquiries officers believe that the fire was started deliberately.
Detective Inspector Charles Edwards, from Charnwood CID, said: “While our investigation is in its early stages, we would like to speak to anyone who saw or heard anyone entering the house last night.
“Fortunately, the property was unoccupied, but other premises were evacuated as a precaution and this incident could’ve had far more serious consequences. Any information you’re able to provide, no matter how insignificant you think it is, could help.”
