Some Leicestershire waste sites close

All libraries also shut their doors.

Some Leicestershire recycling and household waste sites are now closed as part of County Council measures to prioritise public safety during the coronavirus outbreak.

The changes affect sites in Loughborough and Shepshed which are now closed until further notice.

The County Council's asking users to consider if visits are necessary and then use alternative locations nearby.

The county council has also confirmed that all its main libraries - as well as museum sites already announced - will be closed. This follows on from a move to close smaller libraries earlier in the week.

Events, activities, adult learning classes and clubs due to take place in all libraries have been cancelled (until further notice). Items currently out on loan will not be due for return until 1 May 2020.

Council leader Nick Rushton said: “Our focus is keeping critical services running, particularly those supporting vulnerable people. As well as the closures announced, some events will be cancelled – so keep in touch by following the national guidance, our website and social media channels.”

Beaumanor Hall catered events

1485 Tithe Barn at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre

The 1620s house at Donington-le-Heath
