Rothley
- It will start feeling more festive in Rothley tonight as the lights are being switched on.
- There will be live performances, games and rides,
- A renowned local historian is turning the lights on.
Testing
- Leicester’s Hospitals’ Emergency Department has set up a new screening programme, intending to test more than 100,000 people per year for blood-borne viruses.
- Every patient aged 18 years and over who is already having blood samples will now also have an additional one to screen for HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C, unless they opt-out.
- They say that this will lead to earlier diagnosis and treatment for patients.
Charnwood Community Grants
- Nearly £40,000 has been allocated to 14 projects which are making a positive difference across the borough.
- The latest projects Charnwood Borough Council has awarded funding to include an urban farm initiative, a community pantomime, and support for disadvantaged young people.
