Charnwood Borough Council has paid tribute to the former Mayor of Charnwood Mavis Mason, who has passed away.
Mavis served as the Mayor in 1991/92.
She represented the Cossington and Sileby Ward as a borough councillor from May 1976 - May 1983 and the Sileby Ward from May 1987 - May 1995.
While she worked as a councillor, she held positions on the estates and recreation committee, the Outwoods management committee and the health and housing committee.
A Charnwood Borough Council spokesperson said: "Our thoughts are with Mavis’s family and friends at this difficult time."
