Two patients being cared for at Loughborough Hospital and who had tested positive for Covid-19 have died.
In a statement the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust said: "Sadly, we can confirm that two patients being cared for at Loughborough Hospital, and who had tested positive for COVID-19, have died.
The patients were both women. One was in her eighties, and the other in her fifties. Both patients had underlying health conditions.
The deaths bring the total for Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust to four COVID-19-related deaths.
Our thoughts and condolences are with the families and friends of those patients at this very difficult and distressing time."
