Further closures announced.
Leicestershire County Council has taken the decision to close all of its recycling and household waste sites until further notice.
The move follows Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s announcements of strict new curbs on life in the UK to tackle the spread of coronavirus.
Leader of Leicestershire County Council, Nick Rushton said: "This is a challenging situation, we’re doing everything we can as a council and it remains vital that residents follow Government advice as it is clarified. We all need to play our part to stop the spread of coronavirus and save lives."
On Sunday, all country parks across the county were closed until further notice with the council encouraging people who can openly access sites to follow strict social distancing
All museums and libraries are also closed.
