Body found in search for missing Loughborough man

Police say they will provide further updates when they are able to.

A body of a man has been found in the search for missing man Shahab Uddin.

Mr Uddin, 40, was reported missing from the Loughborough area during the early hours of Wednesday 13 August.

Leicestershire Police, said: "The body was found in an area near to the A6 near the One Ash roundabout, Loughborough, earlier this afternoon (Thursday) by officers searching in the area. Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of Mr Uddin have been informed. Full support is being provided to Mr Uddin’s family by Family Liaison Officers from the force."

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries remain ongoing.

Detective Inspector Jonathan Dickens, from the force’s Missing From Home team, said: “Sadly we have found a body in the search for Mr Uddin.

“While formal identification is yet to take place, Mr Uddin’s family have been informed and we are continuing to provide full support to them.

“Thank you to everyone who has continued to support Mr Uddin’s family and ourselves during the search and who has provided information during the investigation. Our enquiries remain ongoing and we will provide further updates when we are able to.”
