Detectives are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision in Croft on Sunday 2nd August.
Leicestershire police says it happened in Thurlaston Lane at around 7.45pm and involved a blue Vauxhall Vivaro van and a cyclist which were both travelling from Croft towards Thurlaston.
The cyclist, 31-year-old Virgil Tanase, died at the scene.
Thurlaston Road was closed for several hours to allow officers to carry out enquiries and reopened in the early hours of yesterday morning. No-one was arrested.
Detective Constable Anna Thorpe, the investigating officer, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw the collision occur – or who saw either the van or cyclist prior to the collision occurring.
“I am also asking anyone who was travelling along Thurlaston Lane – either to or from Croft – around the time of the collision and who has a dashcam installed in their vehicle.
“Any information you have, no matter how insignificant you think it may be, could help with our investigation.”
