Sands United Ashby football team are taking on a 35-mile walk on Saturday 14th September to raise money for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity.
The team of 27 walkers are setting off from Leicester City Football Club at 5 am and will walk to Burton Albions Pirelli Stadium.
The journey will take them via local football clubs including Ellistown FC, Heather FC, Ashby Ivanhoe FC, Malbourgh Rovers FC, Gresley FC, Stapenhill FC.
Sands United Ashby football team set the target of raising £1000 pounds however they have raised over £4000.
In June 2020 the group formed with only 5 players, it has now to 35 and has supported over 75 men in our journey over the last 3 years.
To mark Baby Loss Awareness Week they are attempting to walk 35 miles a mile in memory for every Angel in the group.
Sands is a baby loss charity that supports bereaved parents and families.
