A number of areas have missed bin collections this week.
While many other local authorities have had to suspend their garden bin collections due to staff self-isolating, they have continued in Charnwood albeit with some disruption.
The Council said a combination of factors - staff on holiday, general sickness, and the national shortage of HGV drivers - has led to some missed pick-ups.
They have taken the decision to stop any new bookings for bulky waste collections until next week at the earliest. Items which have already been booked will still be collected on Saturday July 31.
Residents are also asked to leave their brown bins out for collection, even if they haven’t been emptied on their designated day. Bin crews will be working on Saturday to ensure that the full service is provided.
