Councillors voted unanimously to stop Poundstretcher extending the delivery hours at its depot in Kirby Muxloe.
Local residents launched a long campaign to stop the discount retailer from extending the hours of delivery at the depot.
Councillors at Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council were concerned about the impact the approval of the planning application would have on residents living conditions.

Councillors had previously spent some months working with the applicant, Crown Crest, to find a compromise solution that would secure local jobs but also appeal to local residents. The council said a compromise could not be found.
Crown Crest has appealed to the Planning Inspectorate who will now make the final decision.
