Hinckley and Boswoth MP, David Treddinick, and 22 other East Midlands MPs have written to the Health Secretary about plans to stop children's heart surgery at Glenfield Hospital in Leicester.
A consultation in to the plans which ends on 17th July states that NHS England are concerned Glenfield will not meet new standards quickly enough and therefore should be downgraded to a Level Two centre.
NHS England says a decision will be announced at a public board meeting after the submissions in the consultation have been assessed.
